Games will be held on Saturdays at Community Homecoming Park, 7807 Angola Rd., Holland, OH. there are 2 seasons that the Rec Academy plays in, Fall (beginning in September), and Spring (beginning in March/April). Games are as early as 9am and end as late as 1pm (younger divisions) or 3pm (older divisions). Older divisions will also have a chance to play under the lights. Practices will be during the week, you will have a chance to notify us of one day that won't work and we will do our best to honor that request. The coaches will select the time of the practice, but will be held between 5-7pm.
What are the uniform requirements?
A uniform consists of a reversible SFC jersey; Home team will wear white, Away team will wear black. Also required are black shorts, black or blue socks, and shin guards (these must be worn under the socks). Soccer cleats are recommended but not required. Cleats for any other sport are not permitted. Any sporting goods store can help you pick out legal soccer cleats.
Players may not wear jewelry (including watches and earrings) or hard plastic hair pieces at any time.
What age group will my child be in?
SFC follows the US Youth Soccer age recommendations for age groups. For the soccer season beginning Fall 2018 and ending in Spring of 2019:

**A note regarding playing up: Players may play "up" one age group if requested by a parent and approved by a board member. This will approved based on the ability of the child to physically play at the higher age division. Players may NOT play "down" under any circumstances.
What can my player wear in cold weather?
Players are permitted to wear knit hats and gloves. Players are permitted to wear sweat pants UNDER their shorts. Players are NOT permitted to wear jeans or cut-offs. Sweatshirts are to be worn UNDER the jersey. No jackets or coats or anything with buttons or zippers are permitted. Hoodies are permitted provided the hood is tucked into the jersey.

There are only 2 times games or practices may be cancelled due to weather. Lightning or a closure of the park by the township. If the township thinks the fields could be damaged due to rain, they will notify us and we will update the website to show that the fields are closed.
We will not play or practice in lightning. Homecoming park is equipped with a lightning strike detector. In the event the alarm goes off, all players, coaches, officials and spectators must seek shelter in their vehicles or under the shelter house until the "all clear" alarm sounds. This will be 30 minutes after the last detected lightning strike. In the event of a prolonged lightning delay (or anticipated delay), the games may be postponed or cancelled at the discretion of the board.
When can I sign my player up??
Registration for the spring season always begins in February, and registration for the fall season always begins in July.
What are the fees?
Fee's are $35 for U4, $40 for U5 & U6. Fees are $45 for U8, U10 & U12, and $50 for U15.
How can I volunteer to help out?
When registering your player, you will be prompted to volunteer to be a Head coach or Assitant coach. We also have volunteer opportunites that you can sign up for which include Field painting and Concession's. Please volunteer for anything you may be interested in. Volunteers will need to pass a background check, and if coaching, complete a concussion training course. As an added benefit of being a Head coach, your player (one) will be able to play for free.
